Welcome to ElasCloset!
“THERE’S SO MUCH MORE TO BECOMING AN ENTREPRENEUR THAN STARTING A BUSINESS~ THIS IS A JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY, PERSONAL GROWTH AND COURAGEOUS ACTION”
Growing up in Ghana, I was passionate about creating pieces from almost anything I could lay my hands on. I was surrounded by business-minded individuals hence, I learnt the need for individuality at an early age. My interest in fashion was mainly influenced by my Aunt, a seamstress who I spent most of my childhood days around and today, continues to play a major role in my business. From creating pieces and working with my hands, I learned so much about myself in ways I never knew existed. I moved to the United States at the age of 16 years and graduated High school in 2013 around the time ElasCloset was founded. I started ElasCloset as a way to educate people about the African culture, while taking pride and paying homage to my motherland Ghana through modern art and creativity. I want people to know that there is more to Africa than what you see on TV and our wax prints aren’t just fabrics. Each pattern, texture, hue of vibrant colors and many more all holds a great significance and meaning to our culture and way of life.
At ElasCloset, our goal is to bring awareness to the beauty in African culture while exploring other vintage inspired styles. Our business runs exclusively online from Queens, New York which means we do not have a physical store.
However, due to the growth and demand for our products and services, we are currently expanding our team by working with other trusted Artisans from Ghana, West-Africa who bring our style inspirations to life. This also enables us to support, while giving small businesses like us job opportunities and a global exposure. Because giving back to our community is of essence to us, our wax prints are also purchased directly from local vendors in African markets. As thus, we promise nothing but the best and quality of products.
When you shop at ElasCloset, you support a dream!
